I am a property developer and manager. I help property owners leverage their land and buildings for the best possible profits. This philosophy helps me to create wealth for property owners.
How long have you been in business?
I started my career in property management with a local landlord. After I helped him for three months, I was promoted to property manager. I worked for that company for about ten years, and then I went out on my own. I have been freelancing for five years.
Are there any unique challenges in your industry?
Older properties provide quite a challenge not only in the United States but here in the UK as well. Older buildings have a host of problems including inefficiency and environmental impact. When a company is working with a new building, they need to thoroughly examine the strengths and weaknesses.
Do you have any particular challenges that you personally address?
I help building owners and landlords who are looking for ways to increase their profitability. Looking for “money pits” and unnecessary spending is part of the solution.
Is your industry growing, shrinking, or remaining the same?
Locally, my industry is shrinking somewhat. There isn’t enough quality office space in our city to attract new business. I am working to attract new builders and developers to the area.
How does technology impact your company?
Technology has had a huge impact on my business. I use my mobile phone quite a lot to collect data and quickly communicate with my property owners and managers. In the office, I use specialized software to track the changes that need to be made.
Have you ever been to Miami?
I have been to Miami a few times and I quite enjoyed it.
What part of Miami?
A good friend of mine from Sheffield recently bought a business in Wynwood, so I spent quite a lot of time there. He took me to beautiful parts of Miami proper and also Miami Beach.
Did you visit any particular locations including restaurants?
My friend took me to a Miami Marlins game. Being British, I don’t have that much experience with baseball, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. After the game, we went to Doce Provisions. The combination of Southern and Cuban food was fascinating and delicious.
My wife and I enjoyed the Museum of Contemporary Art. I don’t visit art museums very often, but I would visit the MOCA again.
Would you come back?
I would love to go back to Miami. We were only there for a few days, and I feel like there is so much more to explore.

My most recent trip was a pleasure trip.
Where do you see yourself or your business in 5 years?
I hope to be working with even more building owners and landlords. I believe that I offer a unique service to the business community in Sheffield. I would like to start my own real estate consultancy firm.
